Cardio Increases Your Lifespan

June 23rd, 2011

cardioReally? Yes. Basically what cardio does is it strengthens your muscles and builds endurance in your respiratory system. That’s building up your psychological health. While all this is happening your endorphin production increases and your psychological health as well. You know what they say, people who laugh more live longer; and endorphins make you happy.

With cardio you must open up your lungs. Your lungs are two of the vital organs cardio improves. By sustaining breath control you are actually training your lungs to take in more oxygen. The more you do this the stronger and clearer your lungs will be. Having healthy lungs can go a long way in terms of health. The better you breathe, the more active you will remain, and the less likely you will lead a stationary life.

Cardio also trains your heart. The more you workout with cardio, the more steady your heart will beat under pressure. Given that if you have any pre-existing conditions you should be careful not to stress your heart, it doesn’t hurt to train it a little step at a time to promote strength. Even as an overall bonus, you get better blood flow through to the extremities because your body is pumping it continuously stronger.

All of these factors contribute to overall longer life. With a better heart, set of lungs, muscles, arteries and veins you’re sure to have less complications later in life. so take care of yourself.

Brighten up your smile

February 27th, 2011

Did you know that there’s a way you can have a whiter smile from home? It’s by using a tried-and-tested home remedy like bicarbonate of soda or baking soda. “Just dip your wet toothbrush in soda and brush and rinse as usual.” Baking Soda in its chemical form is known as sodium bicarbonate, represented by the chemical compound NaHCO3. It can be found naturally in many mineral springs and it can also be produced artificially. It also dissolves very easily in water. The most common form of baking soda would be what we often find in our kitchen.

Baking soda gives your teeth a whiter appearance by removing tough stains. Baking soda works to actively remove dulling plaque and deep stains that are embedded deep in tooth surface crevices by dissolving into these areas. Once dissolved in water, Baking soda changes its chemical make up slowly and it gives off free radicals which penetrate the surface of the tooth’s enamel and combine with stain molecules breaking carbon double bonds; changing stain molecules from a darker colored substance to a clear one allowing baking soda to help lighten and whiten teeth

DON’T BE A VICTIM OF CYBERBULLYING

February 25th, 2011

It is bad enough we see bullies in school, but what if we these bullies extend to the internet? The bad thing about these cyberbullies is that we do not know who they are because they misuse the internet by bullying others, the most common of which is by saying disparaging or threatening remarks. Parents are usually the last persons to know that their child is being cyberbullied, because kids often hide this fact from their parents, either because they are ashamed, afraid, or think they can deal with it by letting it pass as it will simply go away.  The problem is, what if it doesn’t?  Like ordinary bullies, cyberbullies exist because no action is taken against them.  For kids, it is best to report the matter to their parents so that they can deal with it.  On the part of the parents, take an active interest on what the children are into so we can monitor their activities on the internet.  When we catch these cyberbullies, it is only then will they stop doing so

THE PRICE OF THE AGE OF TECHNOLOGY

February 24th, 2011

Back in the good old days, illnesses were not that complicated.  People who get sick can either have the same treated at home or just take a pill or two, and he is fine the next morning.  Unfortunately, owing to the worsening pollution, coupled with the substances mixed in processed foods, the sicknesses we had before had evolved into more complicated and serious one.  The simple cold is not that simple anymore.  Fevers now have to be monitored because it will lead to several complications if it persists for at least three days.  If natural remedies were 100% effective before, the same is not true in the present case because doctors and medicines are needed to treat any illness, with natural remedies supplementing it.  So with the progress of technology and while we may enjoying its fruits also goes with the risks of incurring serious health problems which have become increasingly difficult to deal with.

Can you tell the difference if you are having a heart burn or a heart attack?

February 16th, 2011

We suddenly feel excruciating pain in our chests. Some may dismiss it as having a mere heartburn. However, people are unaware that they may also be suffering from a heart attack.

Heartburn is only a symptom, and the persons suffering from it usually feel a burning sensation in their chest and extending to their throats. This is usually brought about after people eat, lie down, or simply bend over as the stomach acid backs up into their esophagus. It is difficult to determine what brings about these chest pains, so people should also observe the symptoms of having a heart attack, such as if the pain extends to the left arm, or if it is accompanied by shortness of breath, dizziness or nausea. Though heartburn is a common symptom, persistent attacks should prompt a trip to the doctor.  People who think they have heartburn but also exhibit signs of having a heart attack should waste no time and get emergency treatment for their condition.
